Rumor has it that the nominee will be Edith Brown Clement, chief judge on the federal circuit court for Louisianna....

Does she have any kind of a record on open source/culture issues?

Also, doesnt Louisianna differ greatly from most common law as an offshoot of French law? I remember reading something about that years ago.

Any light someone can shed on these issues would be much appreciated.

Thanks

She sits on the federal bench -- the source of Louisiana state law shouldn't have any impact on that court.

yes, im aware that she is a federal judge... but her background in law school and in private practice is based in Louisiana. Specifically in maritime law from what Ive read about her.

Doesnt a background in LA and Maritime law represent a very obscure nitche to pull a nominee from?
