So I wrote a piece in Wired about the IP wars and music. My argument was we needed fewer voices like mine, and more voices like Tweedy's. Wired liked that, and decided they needed to arrange an event with more of my voice. Who am I to say no?

Ha, that's funny, I was just listening to Muzzle of Bees...
Mr. Lessig,
Is this going to be recorded and distributed?
Jeff Tweedy was just in Chicago and played two sold out nights at the Vic Theater March 4th and 5th. I had no inclination to be excited for his performances - if only you had the opportunity to speak last week!
Speaking of events, are you going to give any other talks outside of the Emerging technology conference while in San Diego?
definitely need to record this and distribute it.
Oh I am so excited!!! Right in my home town!!! Now all I have to do is peel out of the office at 6:45 and I'll make it just in time!
Okay, I need to get a hobby.
Does anybody else think it is somewhat hypocritical of Tweedy to speak out in the way that he does? While I applaud his message, it's difficult to take him seriously when his records' sales contribute to the RIAA's bottom line.
