CC Contest Winners
The winners of the Creative Commons contest have been announced. I would have had a particularly hard time picking between the first two. "Mix Tape" is a brilliant way of making the point.

Thanks! You might be interested to know that the directors of Mix Tape first became aware of the Creative Commons after attending a lecture you gave at Arizona State University in Feb. 2002. Now the circle is complete. :)
(Oh yeah, and Sheryl really does know how to make paper out of strange stuff like blue jeans and silk dresses.)
Yes, I remember your lecture at Arizona State University. If I recall Stan dragged me to it, but afterwards I was very captivated. That lecture should have been advertised in the College of Fine Arts, not just Law. I still have the flyer somewhere too!
I enjoyed the videos myself.
In case nobody noticed already: there's a goofy typo in one of the titles in the video -- "let's" instead of "lets."
There's another great example of reusing/repurposing that I can't understand why it's being overlooked: the big Oscar winner, Lord of the Rings! It's a perfect example of the importance of being able to take an existing work and create something new and original out of it, that still relies on the pre-existing source material. This is exactly what the Creative Commons ideas are about, right? And there's no way this kind of thing can happen with... um... with conventional... um... copyright...
Oh. Never mind.
