Dear Lawrence Lessig:
I viewed your interview on Democracy Now and felt your pain as you wondered what more you could have done to prevent this premature death. It is a continual life lesson of how very fragile the gift of life can be, and many of us have been in similar positions, wondering what more we could have done.
I think Aaron might have felt he gave so much to other causes, and here he was alone to fight this charge.
It may only be coincidental, but I wondered if the death of Aaron gave more courage to the judge in the Bradley Manning case to rule that the government must prove the spurious allegation of abetting “the enemy” or whatever it is called technically, etc.
Aaron Schwartz actions and prosecution reads like a chapter from “Alice in Wonderland”, “Off with your Head”.
Hopefully Aaron’s death will be the straw that is breaking the camel’s back in this absurd disconnect where real crimes go unpunished and rewarded, and social activism is prosecuted, as you have said.
Though tragic, I don’t think he died in vain.

No doubt it’s ingenious. Seriously, kudos to the guy for trniyg. I just think he’s still seriously out of touch with America. I won’t be voting for him simply because he is using the internet to his advantage. I do hope that it is a trend that catches on. But technology aside, his politics just aren’t my style.Aaron
