Not to nitpick, but because your spelling is generally impeccable… I think you mean “Democratic side of the aisle” – not isle.

I just see them as more “politics as usual.” I think Dennis Kucinich is the real mainstream. None of these front runners want to even end the War on Drugs. That’s an obvious move that needs to be made. I’m tired of all of this political nonsense. It’s time for real change. 2 steps to the left isn’t enough.

That’s correct, but not because they are caucusing for Obama in Iowa or voting for him in New Hampshire. More good is being done because they are caucusing and voting, period. The only check that works against corruption in a democracy is not another rule or a regulation but voting and only voting.

Obama this evening.

I agree with many of your points, particular the new generation, and appreciate your ability to be bullish on both Edwards and Obama on the “Eve of Iowa”.

I will be voting for Obama next week here in NH and have included some of this post in a diary on BlueHampshire

Prediction: Obama is going down. Sorry, the media world is not the real world.

But … to be a wet-blanket, regarding “we may see this election go a long way towards fixing the problem that I think is the single most important problem facing government today”, I’m not that enthusiastic. Anyone who gets elected President WILL be thoroughly acceptable to the establishment. It’s just a matter of degree (which does make a difference, but there’s some very strict limits).

We are NOT seeing any sort of power-to-the-people. We are seeing some wealthy interests getting scared that the current regime is very badly managed, in terms of that wars can in fact be very bad for business overall. Don’t confuse the two.
